How do we order ACAT? - You can place an order here, print an order form and send it to us, or call us toll-free. You must provide a valid payment method for your order to be processed. We accept institutional purchase orders and credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, and American Express). We are unable to accept personal checks or credit cards as payment.
- If this is your first order, be sure to let us know which curriculum and options (if applicable) you have selected. If you prefer, you can call us to place your initial order so we can address any questions you might have.
- The content area selection can be changed as departmental needs evolve but may only be changed once during any administration year (June through May). A department wishing to change its ACAT configuration after administering it at least once during the same year (June 1 to May 31) will be charged an administrative fee for managing the change. Please refer to the list of special fees for the current amount. Contact us if you are unsure if the fee will apply to your order.
How quickly can we get testing materials? - To avoid rush processing and expedited shipping fees, orders for print tests must be received a minimum of 10 working days prior to the administration date provided with the order. Orders received after 12 Noon (Central) will be considered as received on the next business day. Print materials are typically shipped to arrive 1 week prior to your administration. We ship by UPS Ground service with delivery times varying from 1 to 5 days depending on the destination. PACAT ships to your campus but many institutions require shipments to be delivered to a central receiving depot and this may delay arrival in your department.
- Orders for ACAT Online and ACAT-N authentication codes are sent by e-mail. Orders received before 12 Noon (Central) on the day prior to administration (M-F) are filled by email without a rush processing fee.
Are there rush processing fees for rapid order fulfillment? - Orders for print tests received less than 10 working days prior to the administration date provided with the order will be charged a $35 rush processing fee. If necessary, tests will be shipped by 2nd Day or Next Day Air service at your expense. Orders received after 12 Noon (Central) will be considered as received on the next business day.
- Orders for ACAT Online and ACAT-N authentication codes received after 12 Noon (Central) on the day prior to administration (M-F) will be charged a $35 rush processing fee.
- PACAT is not responsible for delays caused by order paperwork not being transmitted to us in a timely manner by your campus. Whether or not a rush processing fee is added to the order is determined by when both the order and the payment method are received by PACAT.
How will I know if we will be charged a rush processing fee? - If you place your order online, once you enter the date by which you need the materials, the display will tell you whether or not a rush processing fee will be charged. You will be given the opportunity to adjust your need by date to remove the fee before you place the order.

Are there other costs or fees we should know about? - A $50 administrative fee will be charged for mid-year test configuration changes. Contact us to determine if this fee will apply to a particular request for a change.
- Effective November 2024, orders for ACAT Online and ACAT-N codes will be charged an order processing fee based on the total quantity ordered. The fee is $2.00 for orders of 1 or 2 codes and $0.75 per code to the maximum of $50 for orders of 3 or more codes. This fee is to partially offset among other things, the additional costs associated with maintaining code inventories across multiple years, providing lists of unused codes as needed, and managing requests for additional time accomodations.
How do we return materials for scoring? - All materials, used and unused, are the property of PACAT Inc. and must be returned according to the instructions provided with each order.
- Test booklets and answer forms can be shipped back to us together or in separate packages. Please return your materials using a method that allows tracking. The U.S. Postal Service has several options for this as do Commercial carriers like UPS and FedEx. If you are shipping overnight, we recommend you use UPS Next Day Air Saver or FedEx Standard Overnight. Our shipping/receiving opens at 10 a.m. (M-F) and packages shipped for delivery before that time could be delayed by 24 hours or more.
- Be sure to include a return form with each shipment sent back to us.
Can we return unused booklets for a credit? - Pencil and paper ACATs are custom printed and are unique to each institution. We do not give credits or refunds for unused materials.
- Unused ACAT Online/ACAT-N authentication codes can be used at any time. Lists of unused codes will be provided on request.
